the territory
ThunderClan, even to this day, makes it's home in the forest. The clan has a beautiful territory lingered with birch and maple trees. These trees are set approximately three miles off the shoreline. These cats are happy to be set a ways away from the ocean, as to this clan, the salty sea air is just not as appealing as it is to the others.
Campsite.
The ThunderClan campsite is hidden near the eastern edge of their territory, far away from the other clans. The camp is protected by bramble and thistle. There is only one main entrance to the camp, through a hollowed log that was once a mighty oak tree. The nursery is a strong bramble thicket that was hallowed out for the queens and kits. It has never broken yet, but with strong, persistent wind, that could definitely change. The apprentice den is protected by a layer of thick brush, keeping the wind and rain out. A warrior's den was fashioned inside of another hollow log, this one much bigger than the one that is at the entrance of camp (and this log is a birch). The elder's den is made from another set of bushes, thicker still than the apprentice's though. The medicine cat den and leader's dens are located at the opposite end of the camp from the entrance. They are the first thing that you will see as you walk into camp. It looks like a giant, impressive rock. With careful inspection though, the caves can be seen. The medicine cat's den is larger and has four nests in a common area with a smaller room in the back where the medicine cat sleeps. There is a final room behind that which is where the herbs are kept, but the herb room is very small.
Shaded Forest.
The shaded forest is the densest part of the ThunderClan territory. There are several trees growing in this small area, which makes it well protected in a storm and is often where prey is found. Most cats in ThunderClan use this place as a hunting ground. This place is also filled with predators, so cats must be wary wherever they go. There are frequent fox sightings here, though the occasional badger is no stranger either. (Predators may not be introduced into a thread without the permission of a staff member.)
Shallow Creek.
The creek is by far one of the most shallow that the clans have seen. There are times of little rain during the summer where the creek runs to a trickle and the clan is forced to use as little water as possible. This creek does freeze over during the leaf-bare, but lucky for the clan it is at least deep enough where they are able to break the ice and get fresh water. There are no fish here so ThunderClan is unable to prosper from the water. It is merely used for drinking water.
Shady Hallow.
The shady hallow is the preferred place to train apprentices, as it is cleared out with plenty of room for sparring. It stays cool during the summer and luckily stays warm during the winter so no cat has to worry about becoming sick while out training. The shady hallow is surrounded by berry bushes, most of them juniper. It makes for a good place for the medicine cats to come and get their berries.
