I am The Afanc. I have gone by Sousa or Sousamaphone across the internet for pretty much all time so I decided it was time for some change! I have been doing tabletop rp (D&D, Pathfinder, Don't Rest Your Head) for about 12 years and I've been doing On_line RP for about ten. Fun fact, a warriors site was actually my first on-line rp and it actually got me into the books!

BASIC PERSONALITY.
Cottonfur is a fiery, determined she-cat with a single goal in mind - become the Deputy of ThunderClan. It has been her dream since she was little but the opportunity has never really arisen before and she fears that now that it has, she is too old to make the cut. But that will not stop her from trying!

She is fierce in her hunting and is very well known for bringing home large quantities of food on every hunting trip. She s also a fantastic fighter (though she has rarely had to show off those skills, thank StarClan) and she is the epitome of a senior warrior. She is generous and allows the kits and apprentices to eat before she does and she holds the warrior code above all else. Her Clan is her life and without she knows that she would be nowhere.

She is loyal, not only to her Clan but to her family. She dotes on her sister's three litters (even those that are now warriors) and enjoys poking fun at her brother but still loves him dearly. She is the first to hop in and break up a fight between anyone (weather they are her Clan or not) and although she does have skill in battle, she would far rather see peace.

If there is one thing that she is ashamed of, it is her age. She has been dieing to become a stronger part of this Clan by becoming the deputy and after seventy moons, she has yet to achieve it. It has begun to wear down on her and she feels that perhaps she isn't good enough. And now that her brother has retired, she feels like that will reflect poorly on her. Although she loves her brother dearly, being associated as the same age as an elder may make others think she is too old to be deputy.

BASIC HISTORY.
kithood Cottonkit was born to very loving parents. She had three siblings (though her mother was not very creative with her naming). Dustkit had been named for the thick layer of dust that appeared to be stuck to him. Cottonkit had patches of white throughout her tabby fir that looked as if cotton balls had landed gently on her and refused to leave. Milkykit was pure white. And small Sunkit was an orange tabby who just seemed to glow with personality, even before he could really express himself.

Growing up, Cottonkit had been as close to her siblings as any litter typically was. She enjoyed playing with her siblings, especially her sister who was such a pushover in games. Cottonkit knew from the very beginning that she was going to be the best warrior ThunderClan had ever seen and she started by dominating her siblings in wrestling matches. Despite being the second born and a she-cat, she was the biggest of her litter and even as a kit she towered over her brothers and sister.

apprenticeship Cottonpaw was assigned to be mentored by Songbird, a gentle soul who preferred hunting to fighting and beyond that, she preferred to listen to the music her prey made rather then hunt them. Cottonpaw had a very difficult time wrapping her head around that way of thinking and she and her mentor often butted heads. As time went on, however and Cottonpaw matured, she grew to understand her mentor and found herself idolizing the older cat's way of looking at things.

When she was ten moons, a terrible sickness struck the camp. Thank StarClan the illness was not drastic, but it left the camp taking only one life, that of her youngest brother, Sunpaw. The bright and shining young tom would never know what he would have done with his warriorhood.

warriorhood Once she 'graduated' she and her mentor were really able to bond and the two become inseparable best friends. Meanwhile, Milkywhite had already taken a mate and moved to the nursery. Cottonfur and Dustcloud visited her sister every day and the pair were ecstatic when their little nieces and nephews were born. Bother (neither with kits of their own) doted on the young ones and spoiled them rotten!

Over her years as a warrior, Cotton fur mentored three apprentices of her own. The first, Whalepaw was a silvery-blue she-cat who had a heart of pure gold. As such, when it came time for her naming ceremony, Cottonfur suggested Song, in honour of her own mentor. Gullfeather was a rough tom, much closer to Cottonfur's ideals in life and the pair were a sight to behold! Training sessions lasted hours as both cats tried to better themselves through each other. Whitewhisker was her newest and just recently graduated apprentice.

Recently, Her brother Dustcloud got into a fight with a badger attempting to protect his own apprentice. He lost his eye and moved to the Elder's den. Cottonfur visits him often and the pair have a fun relationship where she often makes fun of him for being old (despite the fact that they are the same age) but she often helps him sneak out of camp to still have fun.

WHY YOU?
As I mentioned before, I have been roleplaying for about a decade now and one interest that has literally been with me since the beginning is Warriors. I have been across the internet and in a serious amount of warriors sites over the years and I have loved them all. Once I find a site (especially a warriors site) that I connect with, I do not leave it until it has left me. Although I am a college student, I am only taking 12 credits this semester and I'm honestly usually on the internet during my lecture classes anyway. I have my own warriors site that will be opening soon so I have a reason right there to be on all of my sites.

As far as dear Cotton, she has never had her chance. She started as only a side character in One-eye's history but on another site when I was deciding I'd like to play a deputy, I started looking through the adoptions. I wanted an older cat who would be able to retire at the drop of the hat in case my MCA needed to become a full high position. I ended up staring at my own adoption thread when I remembered Cottonfur. She is dedicated and loyal and (although it started in passing) it has always been her dream to be the Deputy. If granted the opportunity to prove herself, she would be nothing but gracious and dutiful to both her leader and StarClan.

ROLEPLAY EXAMPLE.
It had been moons. It had been generatons since she had decided she wanted to become the deputy of Thunderclan. All she had ever wanted was to serve her Clan as much as possible. And now, with the unfortunate death of Featherstar and the promotion of Lavenderstar, there had been an opportunity for her dream to come true. And Lavenderstar had chosen her!

She had been shocked the second her name was announced but the pride and honour soon surfaced and the shock slipped away. It hadn't been until she was alone in the Elder's den with her brother that she really allowed herself to realize what happened. She could no longer keep her composure and she let herself become a kit again. She and her brother celebrated (joined a few moments later by their sister) and everything seemed like it had been when they were younger.

But she couldn't let the excitement and the party last to long. She had more duties now then she had before and she would have to put serious thought into who would be taking the patrols tomorrow. She dismissed herself and returned to the warriors den to sleep and think.

She had let herself dream of wonderful things and when she woke, she knew who she wanted to take the dawn patrol. She looked around the den, noticing one of the cats was already out. Hopefully they had just gone to get an early breakfast. She shook Dovefeather gently and smiled at her. "Hey, dawn patrol time." She left the den and looked around, hoping that her sister's mate, Snailshell, was already out there. She breathed a sigh of relief when she saw him coming out of the nursery. She got closer to him so as not to wake anyone with her shouting. "Hey, Snailshell, would you mind going out on the dawn patrol this morning with Dovefeather and I?"

Not that he could say no, she was gratefult hat her brother-in-law was willing to help her out. She glanced up at the Leader's Den. She would have to remember to talk to Lavenderstar about going on a hunting patrol later. She knew the leader was busy but she didn't want Timberpaw's training to suffer. She hoped that wouldn't be overstepping any boundaries...

Once she had gathered her two patrol mates, she gave them both a quick smile. This was it, time for her to prove herself!
