KOISTREAM - 28 - FEMME - SPECKLIZED - FULL IMAGE
personality
clever +
There are a good, many cat that know they are clever and Koistream is one of they. She has taken life as each living, breathing moment and turns it into some kind of lesson to be learned. Because of this she is certain she has figured out a lot more than most cats her age and is more than happy to share her wisdom. She has trouble not taking it and using it as an advantage and often gets under other cats' skin from being so persistent about knowing something.
gentle +
To most cats, Koistream comes across as gentle. Though kindness has not always been her strong point, even in the middle of a fight she is relatively gentle with her words. Her clever nature gives her plenty of opportunity to take a moment to think about what she is going to say and say it in a much gentler way. Koistream is the kind of cat that believes firmly in the philosophy of never leaving words unsaid and never leaving on a bad note.
nimble +
She is nimble in both body and spirit. She has a tendency to be very graceful on her feet and because of this has excelled in hunting and fighting. Though the only time she is really fighting with another cat is when training and when in a battle, she hunts frequently merely to clear her head and is happiest when she is out hunting and spending her time helping RiverClan.
flirtatious +
Koistream is known by many of the toms in the forest to be kind of a flirt. She has a tendency to do it because it makes her feel better about herself when she is being complimented by toms. While most cats are rather unaware as to why she is so insecure, she contributes it to the fact that her father had never really given her the real time of day until Fallowfern passed away.
sly +
She is a rather sly cat, having more times than once when she was younger deceived cats. While she now tries harder to be a better cat there are still times when she finds it difficult to do the right thing and often becomes either conflicted, frustrated, or just down right irritable with herself and everything around her.
witty +
Witty is a good way to describe Koistream. Part of her demeanor of playing off everything is by turning everything into sarcasm and coming up with quick witty comebacks for practically everything. While she usually doesn't get too mad during a fight, she has from time to time put down her barrier of being conscious of other cats feelings and that is when her witty comebacks turn to harsh and sometimes cruel insults. Usually it is only after a long fight or an on going fight that she literally feels she has no control in.
loving +
Love is like second nature to this RiverClan beauty. while she has a tendency to show her love in strange ways, there is never a doubt that she does indeed love. She is loving and supportive of her family and friends and tries her hardest to help them when she can. But she has a fear of love and has a tendency to run from any real sort of relationship.
nonreligious =
StarClan. While most cats don't know it, this is indeed a touchy subject for Koistream. She personally feels that StarClan has abandoned them and even tried to kill them off and that the clans managed to escape because they had outsmarted their ancestors, nothing more.
neutral =
She does not like to pick sides in a fight unless it is her own fight. Usually when cats try to corner her on a topic she is able to talk herself out of it and tries to end the subject as quickly as possible as fighting and arguing makes her slightly uncomfortable.
dependent -
Most cats find it hard to see, but Koistream is a very dependent cat. She depends mostly on her family. Since the death of her sister, Fallowfern, and since Shrikestar and she have gotten closer, she has become rather dependent on her father, feeling like she needs him there for her at practically all times.
people-pleasing -
She does not like to be the one to cause problems and especially dislikes having to hurt other people. Most of the time she is very people pleasing and often bows to the will of others for fear of hurting them or having them angry at her. There are times though (mostly when she is fed up with trying to please everybody).
attention seeking -
She is what most cats would call attention seeking. With her flirting, she is constantly trying to be the center of attention of some tome for at least a little while. Usually her flirting doesn't last long, more than a couple of moons, before she sets off on a new target. She dislikes the idea of moving into a serious relationship and often works hard not to do precisely that.
fickle -
she is incredibly fickle about relationships. She does not like the idea of being tied down to one tom for the rest of her life, mostly because of the fear that they would lose interest with her. She typically won't stay with a tom or in a flirting relationship with a tom for more than two moons. She has also been known to have a few toms being led around at a time, but doesn't seem to care too much about the affects.
insecure -
Stemmed from daddy issues. Mostly, she has always felt like she was number two up until the death of Fallowfern when she became his favorite. There are times when she wonders why she puts up with it, especially considering the fact that she thinks it is stupid that he even had favorites for his kits in the first place. Because of this, she has alw was always trying to prove herself to not only her clan, but her father. She worked hard to become a good warrior. Part of the reason she likes to be the center of attention is because she has always felt unnoticed by her father and tried to make up with it through other toms' approval.
ritualistic -
She strongly adheres to the warrior code. She prefers that all cats follow it to the book and so has a tendency to get a little pushy when they don't. She just thinks that it was made for a reason and obviously put in place for a reason and it has worked for this long, so why should it stop now?
insatiable -
In all honesty, she has a lot of trouble feeling contented. Even now with her father finally acting and treating her the way she wants to be treated she still feels empty, like something is missing and her biggest problem is that she is constantly trying to find what it is. She goes through relationships, hunts through clans and friends, looking for whatever she thinks she needs to fill that missing piece.

history
prehistory
Some would say she tried a lot harder with him than most. It seemed like he was almost oblivious to her advances, missing nearly everyone. Then one day it was like something opened up inside of him and he noticed. Though what it was, many cats aren't sure. Some would say it was the way she carried herself, beautiful, intoxicating, others stated that it was merely the fact that he was completely unskilled in the field of love and interest. But whatever the case was, it didn't matter. Within a few moons of being together the rumors began to spread of kits being born. And soon enough, a few moons later when Dawnwhisker moved into the nursery and Shrikeclaw became a father.
kithood
Three were born, Fallowkit, Whitekit, and then Koikit. Now as time passed on through kithood it became obvious that Shrikeclaw had an interest in Fallowkit and seemed to be smitten by the little kit. And it was no secret to anyone. Koikit knew it, had known it for quite some time that she been placed number two in her father's mind. And when the tom became mentor to a cat named Doepaw, well it became obvious that it wasn't just her sister she was put behind. Koikit always took it personally, feeling down, almost ashamed that her father would choose to spend more time with some stupid apprentice than his own mate and kits. She credited him with the reason why they split up, and hated him for several moons. Not in the way that she would never help him, but in the way where she bottled it all up inside.
apprenticeship
Maybe that was where all the bitterness came from. When she was made an apprentice and assigned to the cat Liongaze she began to open up. He was a young warrior, about the age of twenty moons, when he had been assigned to her. She buried herself into her training. There were days where even when he said there would be no training she would come bounding up to him and beg for just an hour of his time. Liongaze was a soft cat, not nearly as soft as most, but could tell that there was something inside his apprentice that hurt her. So typically when she came to him begging for just an hour of his time he would take her out and they would spar or go for a nice hunt. Often they would end up out there for more like two or three hours (sometimes even returning well into the night) and everything was all right with her. There were times where she would hit harder, throw a harder punch than most days and it was on those when Liongaze would ride out the storm, let her get a couple of good hits in because it seemed to be just what she needed. While he had never quite known why, he worried.
As each moon passed, a bond seemed to form between the two cats. It was a strange bond, one that they were very unaware of. But it wasn't until Dawnwhisker passed from green-cough that it seemed like Koipaw really hit it hard. She became withdrawn for almost a moon, didn't speak a word unless spoken to during her training and even then it was one or two word answers. She had been completely devastated by the death of her mother because at least in her mother's eyes she was doing a good job, she was getting there. But unannounced to Liongaze, little Koipaw had begun to change. He could sense it with her as she neared ten moons old. Her fighting style seemed to grow all the harsher and her hunting became almost perfect. And for many cats within the clan it was considered good that she was excelling as quickly as she was, but only Liongaze could really see it.
Koipaw began flirting with other apprentices, even some young warriors, showing interest everywhere that a cat would give her the time of day. Liongaze became desperate to stop it, and even went as far to once walk up to her and practically drag her away from another warrior. He told her they were going sparring, and when they arrived at the clearing, he simply turned and unloaded on her. He questioned why she was changing, drifting farther from him. Why she wouldn't talk to him about anything, why no matter how hard he tried, she never seemed interested. And the only thing she remembered saying was that he was only her mentor, that he didn't need to care, that she had a thousand other cats that cared about her and that it didn't matter what he thought. He stared at her for a long time before simply shaking his head and walking from the clearing. A week later she was given her final assessment and made a warrior.
a warrior
She had chased him away, and never even knew how much she had truly meant to him. And the sad part was, she had no idea how much she had truly began to care for him as well. The moons that passed after her warrior's ceremony were nothing special to her. She remembered toms, different toms, constantly changing. She would go through some, end the cycle for about two weeks, and then continue all over again, and sometimes her interests even ranged to other clan cats and rogues. Any tom that would give her the time of day, but one that wouldn't question her problems or try too hard to get to know her. Most that did were gone within a week. she didn't waste her time with formalities and hated the idea of being tied down to any of the toms she met. Little did she know that she would have given anything for Liongaze to be that cat.
When Shrikeclaw became leader, she had been happy for him in the sense that she was happy for a kit to be made an apprentice. She felt little pride for her father and often felt abandoned by him. Usually when she looked at him she felt even more helpless and hated his guts for what he had done to their family. With Dawnwhisker dead and Fallowfern and Whitestreak being two of her only good friends, she had difficulty being happy for her father in the way Fallowfern did. Koistream never hated Fallowfern, she hated Shrikestar for picking his favorites.
When the prey began to run bad, it became obvious that things were not good. But instead of blaming anyone, or her father, she blamed StarClan. But with the death of Fallowfern and then her mentor, Liongaze at forty-seven moons, she shed more tears than even for her mother. The reason being was that she had never been able to apologize to Liongaze for what she had said. She had never been able to tell him how much he had truly mattered to her, and it tore her apart inside. She felt her father drift to her for comfort and to comfort, but it never truly hit home. While she appreciated the new attention that he gave her and the effort he made, she knew it only happened because of the death of Fallowfern. Or at least, that was the reason she saw.
In her mind, she knew that the death of Fallowfern was the reason why Shrikestar had agreed to leave. Without that, he would have stayed, tried to ride out the prey, hope that it got better. The journey had exhausted her, sent her into an unfamiliar place of solitude. While her father's and brother's company was present, it was not as ample as it could have been and left her to the mercy of her own head. Liongaze's death shook her, left her feeling empty and emotionless, but she has yet to find a fill for it. Now that they are in the new home, she merely goes each day with one goal in mind. To live. Not to survive, but to live.
But the absence of StarClan does not worry her. She assumes that StarClan left them long ago, though would never dare tell anyone else aloud for fear of insulting them.
